Sandy Epperson, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

As an accomplished human resource professional with a focus on collaboration and results, Sandy partners with leaders in a variety of industries to provide value-added solutions and services that support alignment of business goals with HR strategy. Her background includes human resource leadership positions with three Fortune 500 companies, as well as local and national non-profit organizations. Additionally, she has built and directed an HR function within 2 start-up companies. Sandy believes developing strong partnerships with business leaders around the focused management of talent resources provides an effective HR foundation with significant organizational impact.
In a role as an HR Business Partner, Sandy has successfully consulted on numerous projects with a variety of companies. Recent projects have included HR audits, benefit analysis, performance management, organizational design, HR technology selection and implementation, HR policy and employee handbook development, training design and facilitation, talent acquisition and workplace investigations. Through the scope of her career, she has worked with many different industries and supported internal functional groups including: healthcare, life sciences, retail, distribution, recreation, hospitality, technology services, restaurant, legal, security, aviation, home services, finance, sales/marketing, education, and county and city governmental entities.
She has an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a B.S. dual degree in Business Management and Human Resource Management from Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, she holds both her SHRM-Senior Professional Certification (SHRM-SCP) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certifications. Sandy is a long standing member of the national Society for Human Resource Management and is currently the President for the North Carolina Society for Human Resource Management (NCSHRM). Previously, she served as District Director for NCSHRM and is Past President of the 1100-member Human Resource Association of Central Ohio. She is currently an Instructor for the Duke University Continuing Studies Department where she teaches the SHRM SCP and CP Certification Prep Course, HR Intensive. Sandy has also served as an active volunteer on the board and executive committees for the YMCA and local Literacy Council. For the past 3 years, she has participated as a presenter at the Community College Entrepreneur Educational Series and various Chambers of Commerce Small Business Committees.
